 About Whitney…

Blush Wave LinkedIn Banner.png

Hello, I’m Whitney.

I discovered my calling through coaching—a craft that combines forward momentum, intuition, collaboration, and science. My coaching approach is built on a diverse background as a therapist, facilitator, leadership consultant, and elite athlete.

When I was rowing on the women’s national team I was always curious why some people were more successful than others. I studied the athletes around me, and I certainly studied myself. I was drawn to understand what got in the way of excellence, confidence, and well being. So when I “retired” from rowing  I became a therapist.  And while I loved the depth, intimacy and challenge of the work, something was missing for me. I went back to my roots and worked with athletes around wellness and teamwork.  I started my coaching practice, and took on various roles in leadership development, and got my coaching certification. I Love coaching. I love that true change requires self awareness and depth, the excitement of going after a goal, the flow that comes with greater authenticity, and the genuine connection I have with my clients.

I'm passionate about well-being and excellence—because I've learned the hard way that you can't really have one without the other. (Especially not after 40.)

That's not just a personal lesson. It's a pattern I've watched play out in hundreds of clients over the years—high performers who did everything "right" and still ended up running on empty. That lived experience, mine and theirs, is what led me to start my Substack, Chief Energy Officer. It's where I get real about something most high achievers don't want to hear: the strategies we were taught, modeled, and rewarded for are quietly draining the exact energy we need to lead well and live fully. I write about the tools I use with senior leaders, share real stories from clients reclaiming their energy, and offer strategies to become your own most effective CEO.

I’m a parent and a stepparent, I’m married to a psychology professor and I live in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

In addition to her private practice, Whitney serves as a contracted executive coach supporting leaders at a Big Four consulting firm, delivering performance psychology–based coaching to help dozens of senior managers prepare for promotion and over 40 newly promoted partners successfully navigate the transition into executive leadership.

Whitney is also the founder of Chief Energy Officer, a Substack newsletter built on a simple but radical idea: the way we've been taught to perform is quietly breaking us. Drawing on what she sees inside the rooms with some of the world's most senior leaders, Whitney is pioneering a new model of performance—one built on presence over perfection, grace over grind, and self-trust over self-sacrifice. Chief Energy Officer features real stories of high-performing clients reclaiming their energy and changing their lives; the tools and mindsets she uses in her work with elite leaders and organizations; and the strategies she's developing to help readers become their own most effective CEO.
